Swiss Cheese Plant | Monstera deliciosa Care:
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to encourage large, split leaves. Too much direct sun can scorch leaves, while too little light leads to small leaves without splits.
Watering: Allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, ensuring the pot has drainage holes, as these plants are prone to root rot if waterlogged.
Soil/Potting: Use a well-aerated, peat-free houseplant compost, often mixed with orchid bark or perlite for better drainage.
Humidity/Temperature: High humidity is preferred; use a humidifier, pebble tray, or regular misting to increase it. Keep away from cold drafts and maintain temperatures between 18-29ºC.
Support: Being climbers, they benefit from a moss pole or stake to support vertical growth.
Maintenance: Clean leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and improve photosynthesis.
Fertilising: Feed every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
