Pink Quill Bromeliad | Tillandsia cyanea Care:
Light: Provide bright, indirect light; near an east or west-facing window is ideal. Strong, direct sunlight can burn the leaves, though some gentle morning sun is fine.
Watering & Humidity:
Mist: Spray foliage 2-3 times per week, particularly during spring and summer.
Soil: Mist the potting medium sparingly; the plant takes in water and nutrients through its leaves.
Method: Allow the potting medium to almost completely dry out between waterings. Avoid leaving the plant in standing water to prevent root rot.
Water Type: Use rainwater or filtered water, especially in hard water areas.
Soil and Potting: While often sold in pots, it's an air plant that can be mounted on wood. If potted, use a very well-draining mix like orchid bark or a bromeliad mix.
Temperature: Thrives in average household temperatures (15-26°C or 53-80°F).
Fertiliser: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half-strength once a month during the growing season (spring/summer).
