Earth Star Striped | Cryptanthus sp
Cryptanthus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Bromelioideae. The genus name is from the Greek cryptos and anthos.
How to Care For Your Earth Star Plant (Cryptanthus) :
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch leaves, while too little light causes colour to fade.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Water every 7-10 days in summer and 10-20 days in winter, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (above 50%). Mist regularly, place in a bathroom/kitchen, or use a pebble tray.
Soil: Use a light, fast-draining mix, our Everyday Soil Mix works well.
Temperature: Thrives in 18-27ºC, ensuring it stays above 15ºC. Keep away from cold drafts.
Fertiliser: Use a balanced, half-strength liquid fertiliser once a month during spring and summer
