Begonia sp.
Begonia sp. Care:
Best Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal for most, though some tolerate partial shade. Direct sun can scorch leaves, while too little light leads to weak, leggy growth.
Temperature: Maintain a range of 15-22ºC
Watering and Humidity
Watering: Water consistently when the top 1–2 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, which causes root rot.
Humidity: They thrive in high humidity. Boost this by placing pots on a tray of damp gravel, or by grouping plants.
Avoid Wet Leaves: Water at the base to avoid wetting leaves, which can cause powdery mildew.
Soil and Fertiliser
Soil: Use a well-draining, peat-free, or airy, nutrient-rich, slightly acidic potting mix.
Feeding: Feed with a high-potassium or balanced liquid fertiliser every two weeks during the growing season (May to September)
